Day 3: Arab Peacemakers Still Imprisoned by Palestinian Authority; Human Rights Groups Silent

http://www.jewishpress.com/news/breaking-news/day-3-arab-peacemakers-still-imprisoned-by-palestinian-authority/2016/10/22/

Efrat Local Council head Oded Revivi says he’s concerned about the fate of four Palestinian Authority Arabs who were arrested and taken into custody on Thursday for the “crime” of visiting their Jewish neighbor’s sukkah.

The Arab visitors paid a visit on Wednesday to the Sukkah of Peace, an annual celebration of the Jewish Festival of Sukkot – the Feast of Tabernacles – in Gush Etzion, Judea, hosted by Revivi.

“Three days have passed and our visitors from Wadi Nies are still being held,” Revivi told JewishPress.com on Saturday night. “They have not been released from the Palestinian Authority prison.

“It’s not clear to us where they are or what their condition is. It bothers me to see that humanitarian organizations, human rights groups are not making any outcry about this situation.

Here's Netanyahu:

“Where is the outrage of human rights organizations? There is none. To their great shame, they are silent,” he wrote.

But the premier claimed that this silence was “neither new nor surprising” and was part of a pattern that ignores Palestinian transgressions while singling out Israel.

“These organizations are silent when the Palestinian leadership pays salaries to the families of terrorists, glorifies murderers and calls streets and city centers after them,” he said. “These organizations prove again and again that they are not actually interested in human rights, but only in shaming Israel and libeling it around the world.”

He urged the international community to press for the men’s release.

If they can't blame Israel (or the US), it appears NOBODY cares about the Palestinians. Even those who claim to do so here on DU are mysteriously absent.

I've always said they're a misguided, very loud, very teeny minority who truly don't really understand the issue. They excuse the terrorism that Israel faces every single day - the vast majority of Americans sympathize with that and the usual suspects seemingly have no idea why that is.
