Iranian news site pins Newtown shooting on ‘Israeli death squad’

The horrific massacre at a Connecticut elementary school last week was a “revenge killing in the United States sponsored by Israel” in response to international support for the Palestinians at the United Nations last month, an American journalist told Iranian Press TV on Tuesday.

Michael Harris, the financial editor at Veterans Today, a website littered with anti-Semitic and anti-Israel conspiracy theories, charged in an internationally broadcast interview on the Iranian station that “Israel has been operating death squads.” Harris, a former Republican gubernatorial candidate in Arizona, used the interview as a soapbox for an anti-Semitic rant against Israel and American Jews.

His statements were then featured as the headline of the video published on YouTube and on the news site’s homepage.

He claimed that Israeli revenge squads have been killing Americans since the January 2011 shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that critically injured Jewish congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and 11 others and killed six. Harris also charged that Israel was behind the Aurora, Colorado, movie theater shooting earlier this year in which 12 people were killed and 58 others were injured.

Mike Harris of Veterans Today has exposed the pattern relating what happened there to earlier assaults: “This is exactly what Israel did in Norway; the political party that voted sanctions against Israel was retaliated against by a ‘lone gunman’ who killed 77 children. This is what Israel always does, they go after the children.

As I said, Press TV is providing forum for the nuttiness (looks like they have some unattributed Alex Jones in that article too), but the claim is being made by Mike Harris, of "Veterans Today."

Edit: If you meant Veterans Today, it's been used as a source for some anti-Romney stories on DU... And pretty much every time, someone else points out what Veternas Today is. Still doesn't seem to be "cause for alarm" there

Harris has been used a few of times, mainly on DU2, but he has popped up a few times on DU3, as well. Most are from that bigot, Gordon Duff, creator of the site.
