Israel Air Force jets struck targets in the Gaza Strip early Friday morning, hours after a rocket fired from the coastal enclave hit southern Israel, causing no damage or injuries.
Israeli planes hit a terror activity site and a weapon manufacturing facility in the northern Gaza strip and a weapon storage facility in southern Gaza, according to a statement from the army.
Palestinian sources said seven people were injured in the air strikes.
In a statement from the IDF Spokesperson, the army said it views rocket fire as a grave act and will continue to forcefully combat any group waging terror against Israel.
No group has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on southern Israel.
The air strikes were in retaliation for a rocket that struck southern Israel, near Netivot, Thursday night.
A Color Red alert was sounded in the area, but no injuries or damage were sustained. Residents of Netivot reported hearing a loud blast, but said no special directives were issued to them.
