Thousands Of Young Israelis March To E-1 To Protest Talks With Palestinians

Thousands of teenagers marched Thursday evening from the West Bank city of Ma’ale Adumim to the adjacent area known as E-1 to protest the negotiations with the Palestinians and the decision by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to block construction in the region.

Plans to build Jewish homes in E-1, which would create a continuous Jewish population between Jerusalem and the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim, have been frozen for several years due to international pressure.

The event was organized by the Nahala organization, a group which promotes the construction of new settlements and is headed by veteran settlement activist Daniella Weiss, and various religious youth groups. Most of the participants were pupils at national-religious high schools who were bused in from all over the country. They assembled at the plaza in front of Ma'ale Adumim city hall for speeches before setting off on the march. The march ended with a rally.

Several member of Netanyahu's coalition government joined the march, including Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel (Habayit Hayehudi), MKs Yair Shamir and Yisrael Katz from Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu, along with several deputy ministers and members of Knesset.

This is the Israeli mainstream. It resembles the white American mainstream circa 1953:

And it has the same roots and the same official support.

Who do you consider Israeli mainstream ?

Obviously not us considering how much you have mocked the Israeli Left on here and those that speak for us .

So who King_David ?

Those are the youth of the Wild West Bank , the youth of the religious Right , the youth of Greater Israel ......and Scootaloo is correct ...they are all racists .
... and they like Scootaloo want ' one State ' ..... only their one state will be nothing like the one state Scootaloo envisions .
see:

"" and is headed by veteran settlement activist Daniella Weiss, ""

Scootaloo....go read up on Daniella Weiss , the worst of the worst .

Here is a ' Liberal Zionist's ' views for you King_David :

He is still under the illusion, like you, that they are not the mainstream :

" only represents a loud handful of people with messianic beliefs "

A loud handful , sure

They don't even live in Israel .

There is no Israeli mainstream politically , hence the huge division of parties in the Knesset .

There is no Israeli mainstream religiously even amongs the Jews there's total division .

Socially ? Tel Aviv couldn't be any different from Jerusalem.

Israeli mainstream is however Zionist and not post Zionist or anti Zionist or non Zionist.

And Scootaloo's accusations were not about
"Those are the youth of the Wild West Bank , the youth of the religious Right , the youth of Greater Israel ......and Scootaloo is correct ...they are all racists . "

She said Israeli "mainstream ".

Are "Those are the youth of the Wild West Bank , the youth of the religious Right , the youth of Greater Israel ......" Mainstream ?

" They don't even live in Israel " ..... some do, Naftali Bennett as a great example of settler ideology lives in Raanana.

" Socially ? Tel Aviv couldn't be any different from Jerusalem. "

...thats because Tel Aviv has a secular majority and Jerusalem a religious one .

Absolutely the mainstream is Zionist ....that is not to say that all Israelis are Zionists however King_David , you would be surprised how many of us are not .

" Are "Those are the youth of the Wild West Bank , the youth of the religious Right , the youth of Greater Israel ......" Mainstream ? "

Politically today yes ... and you can thank Yair Lapid for that .

No, they are brought forth from the core of Israeli society.

Does Israel ideologically shun these people" No, the settlement project is a natural development of Zionism which, as you point out, is mainstream in Israel.

Does Israel's democratically elected government work to help pr hinder the settlers? It certainly works to help them and further their territorial claims.

Do Israelis rally against the settlers? Against their ideology? Against the government that endorses them?

No, Israelis do not, and as we see are more prone to rally for all these things, if anything.

You're right. Mine was a telling post - It tells you I know what the fuck "mainstream" is, and that I can tell when I'm looking at it.

What single issue based, huge, national, right wing rally in the USA are you using as comparison to this one? We don't exactly have any policy that resembles settlement building here. Nor was theirs a "right wing" thing. It was a single issue that attracted religious kids.

You might as well compare it to arafat's rally in 2000 at al-aqsa.
