Ex-Mossad chief calls Netanyahu’s Iran speech ‘bullshit’

Former Mossad chief Meir Dagan lambasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a Channel 2 interview previewed Thursday, calling his speech before Congress “bullshit,” and charging that his policy vis-a-vis the Palestinians endangered the Zionist dream.

“The reality being championed by Netanyahu and [Jewish Home party leader Naftali] Bennett will result in a bi-national state. I think that’s a catastrophe,” Dagan said.

“In the Palestinian arena, [Netanyahu’s] policy will lead … to apartheid,” he told Channel 2 Thursday, adding that such an outcome will “end the Zionist dream.”

The former spymaster, who spent eight years at the helm of Israel’s shadowy intelligence agency, will lead a Tel Aviv rally Saturday night to advocate a change of government.

Does that make him a Palestinian apologist or a self-hating Israeli?

Apartheid is already the "de-facto" policy of Israel. Netanyahu's proposed change to Israel's basic law would turn apartheid "de-facto" into apartheid "de-jure".

If only US politicians were as honest as the former Chief of the Mossad in their comments.

4. I have heard both terms used

many times in various forums. In order:

I have heard the term "Palestinian apologist" used to defame anyone who dares question the conventional US narrative of Israel=good, Palestine=bad.

I do not accuse anyone in this post of this, but I have seen many very derogatory terms used against people who post things that appear supportive of the Palestinian people on this site. In my short time here I have seen some posters try to conflate support for Palestine with hatred for Israel. Such reductionist illogic does not foster discussion but is an attempt to silence people.

When I said "self hating Israeli" I was asking if the former head of the Mossad is to be considered by some here a self hating Israeli or basically a traitor for questioning Netanyahu's motivation and rhetoric.

Perhaps my intent was not clear. I was trying to show how the former head of the Mossad might be smeared by his fellow citizens in an attempt to marginalize his comments by Likud supporters of Netanyahu.

He does sound like a patriot in the ideal sense. Speaking uncomfortable truth.
