...Palestinian women fighters have been active since the second intifada in 2000, but their numbers have swelled since the most recent Israeli offensive. All of Gazas fighting groups have female units, but the most efficient is the Nasser Salahuddin Brigades unit.
There are more women than ever we are now almost equal to the number of men. After this war we saw a huge increase of women signing up for the next fight, said Om Adam, 40, a leathery-faced veteran fighter, and wife of a senior Salahuddin commander.
She said there were several hundred female fighters in Gaza, but no one knew the exact number because each unit worked in a secretive, 25-strong, cell-like structure. She agreed to meet The Times only after nightfall.
The women know only their comrades in their unit. Each cell is led by a female commander, who is assigned a male superior. The Salahuddin Brigade is thought to have at least 80 female combatants and hundreds of others who work in support roles.

(45,850 posts)didn't you run this thread about the 15-21 year old children Hamas was training? So let's see here when Hamas is training them even a 21 year old is a child - fascinating
The Hamas military training camps, under the motto "Vanguards of Liberation," have attracted some 17,000 Palestinian males aged 15-21. The young recruits were trained how to use various types of weapons, including pistols, rifles and mortars. They were also "educated" about the need to eliminate Israel and "restore Palestinian rights."

now here we have a thread about the fact that IDF has killed 30 children up to age 17 in the West Bank since 1/1/2015 alone, yet on that thread we're lectured that 15 to 17 year olds are not children
DCIP reported that while Israeli military regulation permits the use of live ammunition when a direct mortal threat exists, the organization found no evidence that any of the children injured in 2015 posed such a threat to Israeli forces or settlers.

all in all between the ginned up outrage over the 2 items 1 thing becomes quite obvious. it's just fine when IDF/Israel does it, especially in the case of women in combat roles but horrible a crime ect when Hamas.Palestinians do the same
In the case of youths whether or not they are children depends on circumstance-when they are being trained by Hamas they are children but if they ie at hands of IDF/Israel they are not
A glaring double standard and example of the cynical use of hot button social issues to demonize Israel's enemies

(30,109 posts)They then use the deaths of these women in combat as evidence the IDF targets innocent women.
IDF female soldiers do nothing of the sort and are never used in such malicious ways.

Why?

(6,171 posts)We both know already what a straw man is. I'm personally not tempted, but I see a lot of people punching away like crazy at the dummies you put up.
And yes, there is a loose pro-Israel network that creates news that is only intended to make Palestinians look bad. There is another on the Anti-Israel side, but not so much. You seem to have tapped into that pro-Israel one pretty well. That's what I meant with both the straw man and the alternate universe.

(30,109 posts)The point is to then attack that misrepresentation as though it were the original argument. It's a logical fallacy.
I don't see how articles I post come anywhere close to that.

Huh?
Let's take this OP as an example. It's about female combatants. Do you believe that merely reporting this is incitement? That perhaps these facts need to be censored?
