In the face of the Chick-fil-A controversy, around 30 people showed up at the county clerks office this morning to protest the Texas state law forbidding same-sex marriage. They were back at 4 p.m. to support Major Mark Jiminez and Beau Chandler as they tried unsuccessfully to get a marriage license for the second time.
Wearing white ribbons for solidarity and holding signs that read Dallas Demands Marriage Equality, Love Knows No Gender and Civil Disobedience for Civil Rights, the crowd watched as the two men handcuffed themselves to each other and sat down on the gray carpet of the clerks office until closing time. Their hands stayed intertwined until the last possible moment.

Right on. What they are doing takes more courage than a hundred like-minded sheep eating sodium-filled fast food to support the status quo.

Great courage and resolve. Well done gentlemen!

I am proud of them for standing up! It's not fair that US citizens are not granted equal rights, this has to stop! It is going to pass eventually anyway, don't think you can oppress a group of people forever, history says it doesn't work that way.

@ Kevin Stephison....really? Get real, it is to the same thing . Equal rights= equal rights movement. Sure looks the same. They have endured so much for so long. Living in silence, being hated, being discriminated, abused, even killed. They have suffered just as much for just as long, maybe even longer! Get it right. I'm tired of hearing about how the black man suffered and is still suffering the most. Blacks are not the only ones who get discriminated against. Don't get me wrong, I have black friends and white friends but it's time to recognize someone else's suffering for once.
I for one wouldn't continue to live there. I don't care what it has to offer otherwise, the hate would drive me away
