Arlington megachurch pastor says Michael Sam paving way for anti-Christ, but Cowboys exec says team

Arlington megachurch Pastor Dwight McKissick says openly gay NFL prospect Michael Sam is paving the way for the anti-Christ, according to Right Wing Watch:

Writing in the Black Christian News Network, McKissic warns that Sam will “become the face of the ‘gay rights’ movement that takes us down the road to Sodom and Gomorrah at a record setting pace,” triggering the coming of the Antichrist who “would be a homosexual, or certainly unmarried.”

It’s not the first time McKissic — who leads Arlington’s Cornerstone Baptist Church — has said he believes the anti-Christ will be gay.

In related news, OutSports co-founder Cyd Zeigler, who helped Sam come out, says he hopes Sam isn’t drafted by the Cowboys.

“He can work on any team with decent leadership,” Zeigler said. “I pray to God he doesn’t end up on the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Jets or the Washington Redskins. I think those three teams – they have poor leadership, but most of the other teams in the NFL have guys – the coaching staff, the front office and locker room – who are equipped to deal with this.”

That's one NFL market where he'd actually be welcome, most likely. nomorenomore08 Feb 2014 #5

So nominees include gay men, celibate clerics and George Clooney.

I'd love to see him drafted by the Niners or Raiders - I'm a lifelong Bay Area resident - but either way I hope whatever team he winds up on is supportive of him.

Although I'm biased of course it does make sense as a football move too as we had a terrible defense this past year!

And I'd add Tampa and Miami to that mix...he should go with the Patriots...he'd get a great welcome.
