Related: About this forum(a personal aside) Next week I'll be 62. I never expected it to happen.
I have a twin sister. Somewhere along the way I told her, "You have to realize I'm not going to make it to 50". There's a thing with twins. I would never had said that to anyone else. Among my friends it's different. We've seen a lot of how it goes or can go at times.
But between twins it was just about she and I...She reminded me and our guests at our 50th birthday BBQ party.
"Pinto said he would never see 50. And here we are. Well, let's eat!"
So, my sister and I are still here. It's a good thing.

(14,449 posts)If there was one thing I wish I knew is approximately the number of years I have left. The ONLY reason I would like to know is finically. Otherwise I would not want to know.

(11,175 posts)Late one year, at a time when he was having health problems, he got a little maudlin, and said that we were probably observing our last Christmas together as a family.
I reminded him of that several Christmases later. To his credit, he admitted having made the statement.
Congratulations on having been just as wrong as he was!

(175,735 posts)I can only observe the closeness that exists between triplets and twins (having both in the family) and it is indeed unique and special.
