Man admits hate crime in West Side attack on lesbian couple

On a mild July night, Quintas Lockett was walking home from a West Side liquor store with her girlfriend when the couple were beaten by an angry mob a hate crime prosecutors said was sparked by a man who took offense at two lesbians strolling by..
Lockett, 24, suffered a broken rib along with bruises and cuts in the 2013 attack. Despite still living on the block where at least 10 men attacked her, Lockett said she wanted "my justice" bad enough to ignore the harassment and intimidation she's experienced over the last year.
And on Tuesday, she felt she got a measure of justice as Terry Glover pleaded guilty to two felony counts each of aggravated battery and hate crime charges in connection with the attack as Lockett looked on in court. Judge Mary Margaret Brosnahan sentenced Glover, 25, who has prior weapon and drug convictions, to three years in prison. Prosecutors dropped robbery charges.
A Cook County sheriff's deputy was asked to escort Lockett from the Leighton Criminal Court Building after the hearing, though Lockett said she arrived home to see a group of Glover's courtroom supporters on the corner outside.... MORE at link posted above.
