Just wanted to say hi.

I posted an intro in the lounge. I am a transsexual, and if one must classify me, I would fall into the gay category, since I like men, even though I have the soul of a woman, wow that sounds complicated lol.

One of the craziest things about this country, is I can not legally marry the man I love, unless I were to have the doctor chop off my man parts, then all of a sudden it's ok. Go figure. As much as I want to be an actual woman, I'm not in a real hurry to get the finishing touches, besides it's way expensive. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful man who sees me as the woman that I really am, and can love me.

Anyway, I know I babel on and on, I just wanted to say hi.

There are many forums, with great information & interaction. Don't make the mistake I made the first year I was "lurking" before actually joining. I never got off the front page! Drill down and you will find many new friends.

What's funny is, I had a neighbor who reminded me of him when I lived in DC!

I'm also a huge fan of Roger, who brings to mind the late, great Paul Lynde!

The head surgeon there is a transsexual, herself, and understands the whole thing like no other can.

You've got a lot of company out there with transsexuals who stopped just short of reassignment surgery for any number of reasons.

It's just one more reason why marriage equality is necessary.

It makes a difference when someone understands you when they do the procedure. I'm lucky that the internet is around, and have spent hours talking to other people in the same boat as me. I would love to go back to school and become a therapist, that specializes in gender issues, cross dressers and transsexuals could come to me then and feel totally at ease, when you are a "man" in a dress it is so much easier to talk to another "man" in a dress about it all. The only thing I won't do is offer a "cure", just offer ways to accept themselves. I tried going to therapy, and they wanted to "cure" me, it just depressed me more. Someday people will understand that gender is much more than what is between your legs and on your chest, or not there.

I just joined too. I am a genderqueer female bodied human who loves female identified/genderqueer/andro humans. (yes, complicated as well!)

You'll have fun here. Politics 2012 is my favorite spot right now.
