Cancelled hip replacement because of COVID risk. Corporate disability claim may be closed.
My orthopedic surgeon documents that I need a total right hip, right knee and left shoulder. I scheduled the hip first and that kept my corporate disability claim open. They were going to reevaluate after the surgery.
I notified my Lincoln Financial claims manager of the cancellation and she said my claim would now be reviewed again, so they may try and cut me off. I made that call on my own. I wasn't going to risk it and won't until I am vaccinated. It would also put my sister and her husband at risk helping me out for at least the first few days. Plus I would not go to physical therapy under these conditions.
I'm in Idaho and in one of the worst towns for anti-mask, disease spreading vermin.
I'm assuming my claim will be closed and I'll have to appeal. I'm wondering what kind of luck a lawyer would have with this one? I think they should have to keep the claim open until I am vaccinated and can have the surgery.
