Is it possible for an ordinary person (at home) to collect sperm, preserve it and use it to get pregnant after, say 3 to 6 months? I'm guessing it's not, but really don't know.
Thanks
On edit: by way of explanation a friend of my son is involved in a paternity question. The DNA test came came out at 99%, but the Mother seems to have become pregnant a number of months after the relationship ended. The relationship ended in the March of 1999. The child was born in Feb. 2000. It's possible that the memories are hazy. He wants custody (or at least shared custody).

(397 posts)I think I've heard of things like that happening but I'm not certain. It sounds familiar though-I recall a woman bearing a child by her dead husband-they had had sperm frozen before he died. I don't know if they went to a medical facility or not though.

However, if the DNA test came out 99% that he is the father, then he's the father and he's either lying about sex with the ex or he was too drunk/drugged to remember sex with the ex. There's no way she could have kept it in a turkey baster in the fridge.
Still, good for him if he wants to step up and be a dad.
I'm kind of thinking that the dates got screwed up too. The ex-girlfriend kept the child from him for 12 years. He never knew. Now she wants money. I don't think she had the wherewithal 12 years ago to collect his sperm and freeze it for a few months etc. In the meantime he's happily married. Two kids. His current wife has an unusual bone disease and doesn't have long to live. He's unemployed and broke. Because it's a child support case, the State is suing him.
He's a decent guy and wants to do the right thing.
