The everyday medicines that make women ill because they have only been tested on MEN

snip

Mounting evidence shows women’s bodies can react far differently than men’s to the same widely prescribed drugs.

At least one million people a year in Britain are admitted to hospital for treatment after severe adverse reactions to prescription medicines.

Most recently a Dutch study found that women were four times more likely than men to suffer side effects to diuretics — commonly prescribed blood pressure pills.

These range from nausea and confusion to coma and even death, but this study is the first to suggest women face a much greater danger.

I know if I was male I could have made a lot more money when I did a few at Univ of Washington. I had no intention of getting pregnant, but that didn't stop the old white doctors from deciding I couldn't participate in some of the higher paying ones.

and there is no earthly reason why women in prisons can't take part in drug trials, earning commissary money just like men do.

But you're right, the fear of pregnancy and subsequent litigation keeps women out of a lot of important drug trials.

It's insane. It needs to stop.

Women will report an adverse side effect that men do not experience and since it is not in the literature, they accuse the woman of being under "stress" or just being a complainer.
Certain pain medications do not work as well on women but if they say the drugs are not working, they can easily become known as "drug seekers."
Women's hormones have been considered "contamination" in drug studies.

"Science" is full of biases we are supposed to accept as the norm.
