multi-billion dollar health fund fires watchdog

The board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria says it terminated the employment of Inspector-General John Parsons "after a careful review of his performance, which was found to be unsatisfactory. "
A fund statement Thursday said the board expects to find a permanent replacement to head the Office of the Inspector General within six months.
The fund also is selecting a new executive director Thursday.
