Rita

This is a Danish TV series. Yeah, I know—subtitles, but it's worth it.

Rita is a teacher, divorced mother of three grown children and something of a free spirit.

It's always fascinating to watch foreign shows and compare cultures. I was amazed to see the types of clothes these teachers wear to school. I know things have loosened up a bit since I was in school, but I'm pretty sure our principals don't wear shorts, nor do our teachers wear paint-'em-on type jeans. Nor do they smoke on campus.

But aside from the interesting cultural differences, this is a well written show that addresses universal problems and has fun while doing it. Give it a try.

Season one streaming 10 episodes with a 2nd season in the works.
