We finally watched Restrepo last night (streaming on Netflix)....wow.

Very well done, sobering, provoked so many emotions and thoughts. And that was just one tiny piece, one small period, of a very long, ambiguous, never ending situation.

Highly recommended...

I don't know that I am able to "go there". The entire premise for U.S. military involvement lost legitimacy in my eyes. And I just can't deal with the tragic cost of lives lost and traumatized communities that enrages me on a level which renders me angry and depressed.

It is also notable that I wouldn't have known about this film if you haven't posted this notice. I venture also that this film has completely escaped the attention of the media who is currently doing work on the Pentagon's behalf, re-lionizing bloodthirsty snipers vis a vis their current patriot boy as a sort of trophy for future recruits or for the revisionist history of war books to be hailed for the benefit of future West Point grads etc.

I smell the scent of gunpowder storing up for another military "engagement" , perhaps in Syria or other "terrorist hot-spot" in the region.
