Question about binge watching on Netflix and Hulu

I just got a Roku Express thing. So far the only channels I have signed up for are Sling (for the news channels), Vudu (because it was a free offer), and Roku (free).

I haven't used it much but did watch the second season of "People of Earth" from Sling. I found their method of watching a series annoying. After each episode, I had to drop back to the main series menu, scroll back through the list, hoping I remembered which episode I was on, and start it.

I guess I am too used to the DVR I have with my Prism TV that once you record a season of shows when you watch an episode and stop at the end, it gives you the option of watching the next episode. It also dims the titles of the episodes you have watched so even if you don't go back to that series for weeks you know where you left off.

How does Netflix handle series binges? How about Hulu?

(I've got offers for free trials of Netflix and Hulu but haven't signed up yet. With my operation on Tuesday I wanted to hold off signing up for anything else.)

1. Netflix keeps up with what you have already watched, and starts with the next one.

and with netflix or amazon when the episode ends you can push ok to start the next episode immediately during the credits or wait a few seconds and it will start it automatically after the credits.

2. Well, first of all VUDU is owned by Walmart, so if you dislike them as I do, use them only

when nobody else has what you want. At least that is my approach.

Binge watching on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon have the ability to auto play each next episode, and it works great.

I also set up the Roku box so anything costs has to be approved with a password. Since we haven't used Pay Per View on cable, satellite or PrismTV, paying extra is not in our natures.

I don't know if I will add Amazon - I don't order often from Amazon and have resisted their Prime membership for years.

Once I get home from the hospital, I will try out Netflix as soon as I can deal with something new. Right now I am looking at free channels available through Roku to see how much I can get without paying. If I can find MSNBC through another service than Sling, I might drop it.

5. Netflix is great. Crunchyroll is slow, but good....

Amazon has too many things you must pay for, even when you are a Prime Member. I don't use any other channels or streams except my Plex media player, which is amazing.

6. Hulu tracks what you've already watched.

I've been binge watching "Archer" and automatically goes to the next episode when I return.
