We're blogging for choice on a very special day: the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

Today, President Barack Obama issued a statement reaffirming his belief that people should be able to make personal and private health care decisions without government interference. Hear, hear!

It goes to show what a difference it makes to have a fully pro-choice president in the White House.

Read President Obama's full statement:

On the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we reaffirm its historic commitment to protect the health and reproductive freedom of women across this country and stand by its guiding principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters, and women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care. Today and every day, my Administration continues our efforts to reduce unintended pregnancies, support maternal and child health, and minimize the need for abortion. On this anniversary, we recommit ourselves to supporting women and families in the choices they make and redouble our efforts to promote safe and healthy communities.

Happy anniversary to Roe v Wade. 2012 was a stark reminder that many are working to limit choice: http://jezebel.com/5906797/a-state+by+state-guide-to-2012s-anti+choice-laws-so-far. The war on women's reproductive choice is real. Don't anyone tell you otherwise and keep on fighting the good fight, my pro-choice friends.

Thank you for all that you do. Today and everyday.
