For those that like recipe planners, I just found a great one.

Fine cooking magazine, and now the internet site, has long been my first choice for recipes. They have just started putting up a recipe planner, and, imho, it rocks!

I love recipe planners because I have to buy groceries for several weeks at a time. A 7 day planner will usually get me almost there, if you figure for leftovers and going out once a week.

1. I can't see it. Do you have to join to use it?

My planner is yahoo notepad, lol, and I always shop for at least two weeks at a time. My sister in law got me into the habit when I was newly married and I'm still grateful to her for teaching me how to shop well. It would be nice to try a planner, though.

Just go to the finecooking.com website. It's about halfway down the page and look for "Make it Tonight".

I made the linguine with pesto tonight. Easy and incredibly good.

Let me know if you have a problem. I think you would enjoy it.

5. Fun stuff. Put together a baked pasta recipe for a pot luck later this month.

I'm fine with "what's on hand" meals for myself, but for a pot luck with friends it's great to have a simple, interesting recipe. I shop once a week, so all I have to do is print out the recipe the week of the pot luck.

And, the site is full of ideas - a big plus if you get in a rut of same old, same old meals.

6. I like their little programs that let you pick a dish, then pick what kinds of ingredients you

want to use.

They also have meal planning programs for holidays.

And the recipes are top notch - not always the simplest, but consistently excellent.

7. Yeah, me too. I used the back button a couple of times to remix the recipe.

Much more fun than redoing the finished dish, after the fact...
