Middle Eastern Chopped Tomato Cucumber Salad on Whipped Tahini.
It's been quite a while since I had whipped tahini and I've never made my own, but it's been hot here the last few days so I thought this would be a good option for dinner. I always used to get whipped tahini at the salad bar of a specialty food store here.
The salad part also has chopped parsley and mint and I added cilantro. A big beautiful fresh onion from the garden, plus some red bell pepper.
I added large green olives stuffed with jalapenos for spiciness.
Naan bread and garlic chive pita crackers to go with the salad.
Cherry kombucha to drink.
Dessert: chocolate chip mochis.

(10,435 posts)I love middle-eastern food, and have a Palestinian friend who came here from Israel. She and two of her kids cook the best stuff. Those pics look just like her food.

These meatloaves were made in a 12-hole muffin pan. I saw it on the back of a Velveeta coupon. I added a couple tablespoons of minced garlic, some black pepper and oregano to the recipe. They're really tasty, and I'm kinda amazed it's from a Velveeta coupon.
