What's for Dinner, Wed., Aug. 4, 2021

Cup of mushroom soup (cold) with garlic pita crackers.

Grilled chicken kebab. Has red and green pepper and onion in addition to the BBQ marinated chicken.

Now, if my skill level is up to it, I would like to try air-fried zucchini fries, but that will be later tonight. I just bought this air fryer today so I'll mess around with it after dark. Also I have to find a fresh zucchini in the garden!

Dessert: strawberries and yogurt with chopped almonds on top.

p.s. question to experienced air fryers: if I don't find a zucchini, I have some frozen sweet potato fries in my freezer. Can I fix them in the air fryer?

because I've found the air fryer cooks things faster.

I spent a lot of time in the kitchen yesterday, and there's enough of last night's dinner (salisbury steak) to get another meal out of it. There's still strawberry shortcake stuff too. So--I'm off for tonight.

And sweet potatoes with cumin, garlic and butter. It’s my cook/freeze week, so half of it will go into the freezer with the Hungarian Goulash and curry already made.
Food prices are going through the roof, so I’m trying to get ahead.

Slow baked pork loin
Rice & gravy
Green beans from the garden

I was going to have pulled pork and BBQ sauce, but we decided to eat some plain.

Low sugar Klondike bar later.

FLFC had an upset tummy last night but seems recovered today. He had beef, some of the pork and cat treats (Temptations) that he likes.

It's basically Coq au Vin with a few extra spices thrown in.

Spinach salad with sliced mushrooms, slivers of white onion and garlic croutons.

Mashed potatoes with sauce from the chicken pan.

Sliced oranges for dessert.

Boneless, skinless thighs, with a sauce with chopped dried Mission figs, Beaujolais, brown sugar, and shallots. Accompanied by steamed green beans with a dill vinaigrette.
