Tonight I'm going to try my falafel again in the air fryer. I figured out why they were so dry before: I have to spray the inside of the fryer with a little olive oil spray.
So falafel with a side salad of goat cheese, tomato, black olives, and red onion.
I have a new container of tahini, so I'll now be able to make my sauce.
For dessert, a piece or two of chocolate. It's called "burnt caramel."
Later tonight, some melon.
p.s. btw, thank you, Luciferous, for your help on the sweet potato fries. I tried them and they turned out great!

(9,966 posts)We got a package of that pulled rotisserie chicken at Costco, so I'm making couscous with chicken, apricots, and raisins in it. Probably throw in a little chopped onion, saute that first. Season it with some cinnamon and just a smidgen of harissa. Throw some chopped pistachios in it when it comes out. I'm too lazy to cook a lot today.

(43,146 posts)Wish there were some clams in my 6.5 ounce can of BB clams. After draining the water out, it was 1/3 full, a bunch of chopped bits on the bottom. I don't think there were 1 ounce of clams in there. This is called shrinkflation I am told.
Desert? Probably blended apple with whey protein.
I've probably had 1400mg of salt in this dinner, plus a super strong coffee this afternoon. I think I'll be UP ALL NIGHT!

Seems clam content is widely known if these posts from Big Box retailed mean anything.

(2,012 posts)that all food prices were going to go up. I really thought this had already happened. All the food wrapped in unnecessary plastic and paper have a smaller amount of food inside. Baked items have gone way up as well, i.e four small muffins for $6.99. I cannot imagine how families can afford fresh fruit or vegetables, let alone meat products. I was reading that we should eat fish more often. If a family of four would enjoy a good piece of salmon they will probably pay at least $28. If their teen is working she probably worked for three hours so the family could have a piece of salmon. Why are we not protesting?

(41,757 posts)I "inherited" 2 good hunks of FM at the end of a family campout today (they couldn't take them with them).
I was told the best way to cook them was with a high temperature sear - involving "smoking oil"
But I'm the biggest wuss in the kitchen when it comes to potential fires - Yikes!
When I get my courage, maybe I will try it.

(38,553 posts)Earlier today, we had a cookout w/ Dad, Sis, my son & his wife and daughter. Bratwurst, burgers, pasta salad, fruit salad, potato chips, lemon squares and chocolate cream pie.
So, there's a lot of leftovers to pick at.
Boneless pork chops, trimmed and dunked in egg then Panko bread crumbs and sautéed. Drizzled with lemon juice. Hot sauce on the side.
Homemade broccoli soup.
Rice and a small salad.
Nothing exciting but it'll do.

(46,088 posts)Too tired to even warm up leftovers.
Since I work for a food emporium and there were enough smoked dry-rubbed ribs available, I availed myself.
And dayum! They were good!

Some pulled pork on a slider bun, tiny serving
A roast chicken drumstick with the skin reserved for FLFC
Swiss cheese and Ritz crackers
Peach
FLFC had chicken skin with some dark meat, meat balls, chicken tenders, Beggin' Strips, and Temptations. He's doing OK, despite the predictions of his immediate demise in January(!). He will be 14 soon and just keeps on going no matter what.
