Garlic roasting method

I'm not much of a cook - is this a common way to roast garlic? Seems pretty efficient. Also, reminds me of one of those pimple popper videos

Mine never comes out of the skin that easily. Cooks Illustrated suggests making garlic confit instead.

You peel a whole bunch of garlic cloves or, if you can find it, buy peeled garlic cloves. Put them in a pot with enough oil to cover. I use a neutral oil. Bring the cloves to a very gentle simmer and let them go until they turn a golden brown. Now, you have a bunch of cooked garlic and some wonderful garlic oil.

Come to think of it, I haven't done this for a while. I think I will.

I’ll usually do 4-5 heads and then store in a glass jar in fridge. Lasts about 6 months if ya don’t use it all up in the first few weeks. Use as a spread on sandwich’s, add into marinades, jam some under the skin of a whole chicken 3-4 tablespoons for a 5 pounder grill till done.

I reuse most glass jars we come across for use in making jams or compotes, horseradish (we grow and grind our own. I’ll say the one I use holds about 1/2 cup. No need to fill to the top unless ya fall in love with the garlic.

Room temp butter - 1/2 stick
2-3 garlic cloves - peeled then pressed
Penzey's pasta sprinkle - I don't measure because I'm not that kind of person

Mix all together and apply liberally to good bread.

Bake at 350 degrees until golden.

Serve to happy people who can't believe how good the kitchen smells.
