Related: About this forumNo champion cake this year...as predicted.
I usually take photos of my cake entries with their ribbons after I bring them home. We kind of messed up today and left them sit in the back of my son's hatchback while we made some stops in Springfield. So all the chocolate balls melted and my half fondant/half modeling chocolate dragon sagged, pulling down a castle turret. Only the birthday cake survived. I got a first place on the Christmas cake and second on the other two.

(9,186 posts)I used to like to go to our state fair on the last day and walk through the food winners, which, nearly two weeks after judging, were usually slumped and sometimes even moldy.
Im perverse that way.
