My son is making it, for the first time. He'll learn how to make a white sauce, which I think is a good thing to know.

I am so glad I taught my boys to cook. They love it and they are good at it.

Good for you.

By evening I will have a restocked kitchen and be ready.

For tonight, I have requested a pre-roasted chicken and will cook up something fresh for the sides.

I am coming to terms again with the fact that I just can't handle wheat and I've heard this is a good gluten free alternative....

....with lots of fresh basil and some oregano from the garden mixed in.

And a salad of kirby cukes and bibb lettuce with a good vinaigrette and lots of cracked black pepper.

This afternoon is dedicated to making some healthy snack stuff for the week ahead.

Pico de gallo, hummus, pickled carrots, roasted red peppers.
