Did you Know Julia Child Couldn't Stand Republicans?

I just learned that from listening to an interview with the author of a new book on her. The author is Bob Spitz. Name of the book is "Dearie."

Born the child of a wealthy Republican, Julia had many difficult moments with her father because he donated money to that party.

I have always loved Julia, but now she is even more endearing.

Her husband was a liberal and both endorsed and support liberal causes throughout their lives.

Julia would have been 100 on August 15. Brava Julia!!

I found her very offputting when I was a kid, but have grown to love her as an adult.

Her biography is fascinating.

But I have to admit that her food is not exactly my cup of tea.

Love her anyway.

by the McCarthy witch hunt, a wholly Republican enterprise. She never forgave them for that.
