Spending the day getting ready for the storm. We're just having a light rain now, but it's only 40 F. and the winds are to pick up at 12:00 noon. Stay warm

Started it a couple hours ago. I just need to add the potatoes and cod and give it about 15 more minutes!

I am sick to death of my cauliflower soup, even though it was good.

DH is either getting a ride over land to the store tomorrow or we will sail around to town. Either way, I will be very happy to restock.

brown rice cooked in coconut milk, shredded romaine topped with a fresh salsa of chopped heirloom tomato, jalapeno, onion, parsley, and sliced blackberries and dressed in lime juice/date syrup. I tossed flour tortillas in the oven to puff and crisp slightly. Mighty satisfying. Now the wind is getting wild. We've enjoyed (for a hurricane) rather gentle intermittent bands of wind during the day. The water level is into the park down by the river. Mr. Pup didn't have to go to work today. No commuting into NYC for jobs today. Unless your employer sent a car for you, you were home with the kids. No school, either. Stay safe, everyone!
