After a whole day of watching the news on Friday and a night of hugs and video games (we stayed up way too late) and about 200 calls from Mom. I made waffles with ice cream and Oreos. Just like the commercial, it started with "don't tell your mother".

I had been left alone with the niece and nefew for the weekend. I did not realize what sugar did to kids. I spent the next two hours what felt like herding cats.

Mine are grown, but I felt the grief profoundly. If they were small, I think it would have been even worse.

Is that I get to spoil and smother the crap out of them.

It was a good evening. I had my nephew driving race cars in Monte Carlo (video games), while I taught my niece to dance with the help of Davis, Coletrane and Charels. We built a fort and then played Godzilla. Then we all crashed on the living room floor.

May I just say you have an exquisite taste in music.

But it is so relaxing.

I really enjoy the modern artists as well. Michael Buble, Diana Krall, etc... They are keeping the style alive.

I have weird taste in music... Led Zep made me pick up the guitar, I work out to heavy metal, I jog to anything with a 180 time signature, basically, I don't have a specific taste. You'll find Bach, The Greatful Dead and Pantera all in my iPod.
