I've saved a newspaper recipe for fried radishes for decades and finally tried a variation (after receiving 3 bunches of radishes this last shop.)
This was a great trial as a side dish for walleye. Sauteed sliced red potatoes in olive oil and butter and good 7-spice seasoning, then added sliced onion and radishes. Browned until crispy.
Wow, I loved it. The radishes turn all mild and mellow and a little sweet.
Asparagus was the veg.

(2,674 posts)I bought a bunch of radishes at the farmers market a few weeks back. They were large and tough. I grated them and put them with thinly sliced onions. Then I poured some Rice wine vinegar over them and seasoned them with a little salt and Gebhardt's chili powder. I let them stand about 30 minutes, giving them a stir a few times. Right before serving, I squeezed a little lime juice on them. Had them with salmon and sliced oven roasted potatoes. Very tasty.
