OH CRAP!

So, I was making a boxed cake for a co-worker party tomorrow. Checked the oven and it was done, got my mittens on grabbed the cake pan and promptly dropped it all over the OVEN!

I was able to salvage must of it.

Now what? I have icing, the cake is ruined. Any ideas on how to save it?

Isn't there some kind of dessert that you mix cake crumbled up in? Laura PourMeADrink Mar 2013 #5

I brought one of these cakes to the big family dinner they threw when she brought me home (she
was a cat/cat/cat/cat-LOVER). She loved the idea and her whole family couldn't WAIT for dessert
(except for one 14-year-old daughter who thought it was gross... just gross).

It calls for "crumbled cake".

For a cake that falls apart completely, make a classic trifle: In a pretty glass serving bowl, create layers of crumbled, liqueur-soaked cake, whipped cream, and berries or shaved chocolate. Refrigerate until serving time.

The cake was banana and I have some almond liquor. What do you think? Too weird?

CRUMBLED CHOCOLATE CAKE DESSERT
1 (9 x 13 inch) chocolate cake (can be mix), baked
4 pkgs. chocolate pudding (instant)
2 (8 oz.) containers Cool Whip
2 Heath bars or Nestle Crunch
Crumble 1/2 of cake in large container. Prepare pudding according to directions on package, except using 1 1/2 cups milk per package. Pour 1/2 pudding over crumbled cake. Spread layer of Cool Whip and sprinkle on crushed Heath bar on top of Cool Whip. Repeat layers of cake, pudding, and Cool Whip, then Heath bar.
This is a very large recipe, it may be cut in half.

It's not the cake saving so much as it is another trip to the grocery store! I was hoping to avoid that. I love heath bars though!

Thank you. Feeling so inadequate today! UGH!

are a cook that doesn't follow recipes -- just kind of plays it by ear - you don't do well baking - since it has to be so precise.
