1/2 pound white mushrooms, stems removed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 T butter
1/2 c red wine
Directions
In a medium size sauce pan, melt butter and saute garlic until it turns slightly brown. Add mushrooms and red wine. Simmer uncovered until most of the wine cooks off. Cover and cook over low heat until the mushrooms absorb the remaining wine. Serve with grilled steak or chicken.

So I assume they're long gone.

(106,886 posts)2. Good simple topping for steak. I'd probably under cook it a bit from the recipe. I like some bite
in mushrooms. Or if broiling steak, I'd top the steak at the very end and run back under the broiler to just brown the shrooms.
