What's for Dinner ~ Saturday May 18th

Sorry I've been slacking again.
I am more tired after starting the bipap machine than I was before I started.
And I was really, really, really tired before.
And I found out that I'm really allergic to Flonase
But I did manage to avoid the ER cause I had some Benadryl on hand.
Fun days.

Good thoughts to you.

Tonight's dinner will be lasagna at our grandson's birthday party. Woo hoo! Granny's not cookin'.

Blessed with generally good health, but I found out yesterday from my chiropractor that I was allergic to wheat and spelt. This is sad, because pasta is my favorite food.

Considering reading the Wheat Belly cookbook.

http://www.amazon.com/Wheat-Belly-Cookbook-Recipes-ebook/dp/B008HALLIK/ref=sr_1_2?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1368849253&sr=1-2&keywords=wheatbelly#reader_B008HALLIK

Not yet sure what is for dinner, but going wheat free for a couple of weeks, so I can see if it makes a difference in my health and some minor joint inflammation that has been bugging me.

Hope you feel better soon!

change when they dropped wheat from their diets. And there are some great what pasta alternatives out there. I hope the change gives you inflamation relief!

The Portland Timbers v. the Vancouver Whitecaps on the telly. Big Timbers fans here!

So because the weather is cool and sprinkly, something very savory seemed like the ticket for supper. Brats and franks simmered in sauerkraut for a long time. Potato salad and slaw. Pickled baby beets. Sweet potato biscuits on the side. And giant peanut butter cookies and spicy applesauce for dessert.

hate that stuff growing up but I love it now! I never thought about adding cheese to it. That sounds delicious.
But the Root Beer creamsicle sound yummy too. I've never seen those here before and now I want one!!

The root beer creamsicles, I've never noticed in our store before. Lucerne brand
(Safeway's generic brand), though Kroger and Blue Bunny and others make them.
Pretty tasty. Comes in a box of 6.

Added sauteed mushrooms with onion and ham, spinach and a finely sliced chicken breast that I cooked with garlic and dill.

And cheese.

Can't forget the cheese!

We had black beans and rice with it. Delicious! My daughter prepared the meal. I have to say she's a pretty good cook.
