I've got turkey bacon and other fixings for the sandwiches.

Not sure what to do with this red pepper, but it needs eating.

Lobster, 3-cheese sauce, green spices, black pepper. Expensive, even for a small, but I did a splurge every so often. Loved it.

Pizza the other night - hadn't seen it in many years. BTW it was released in 1988 ! 25 years ago !!

Anyway, there is the greatest scene when Julia Roberts opens the fridge and it's full of lobster and she groans - no (her mom worked the lobster docks)

It's about lobster(wo)men in Maine.

Excellent, even though I really did not like this author's later book, "Eat, Pray. Love"

No time! I still have a three-hour drive to northern Wisconsin yet tonight. I am in Chicago. I will be skipping dinner.

I am waiting on an air conditioning coolant change before I set off. I had the whole car looked over thoroughly by a dealership to avoid problems down the road.

Thanks, cbayer, for recommending pinto's train food thread. I so wish I'd known about it before I left. And pinto, thank you for your suggestions on yesterday's thread. I will copy and paste for future reference. I'd love to try the starlight ride, but we only had a one-level train and furthermore, it didn't even have wi-fi!! But I was OK, despite the screaming brat who went on for 24 hours. I planned: had earplugs.

I did go to the dining car and have a fun time with other passengers! That was one of the best parts of the trip! We stayed up until 3 a.m. laughing, joking, and talking. Great people whom I would never have met otherwise. It "enlarged my world," as they say.

Everyone's dinners sound so good.

And it's not like being stuck in a seat the whole way. Glad you did a meal and an evening in the dining car, met some folks and had a good time. Good splurge. Hands down, if someone has the time I'd recommend a train trip.

forever to work.

I made white pizza--with garlic salt, provolone, mozzarella, and parmesan.

Then I made a veggie--carmelized onions, mushrooms and spinach was the base, mozzarella and parmesan the cheese, and marinated tomatoes as the topping.

Delicious!
