(6,057 posts)Cleaning out the freezer and I had two frozen crab cakes left over. Baked them with a half of a chicken breast.
I served them with homemade may with some Dijon mustard mixed in. A big hit.

(35,669 posts)That sounds so good. And you are very fortunate to have angels!
Mmmmmm, cheesecake.
Tonight I made a salmon salad. It was a big tossed salad and I accented it with endive. I baked salmon and cooled it, then cut it and tossed with the dressing, which I also mixed myself.
Dinner was early tonight, as I have to get out and protect my plants! Might get down to 40! 'Maters don't like those temps.
Mint chocolate for dessert. Thyme tea.

(146,218 posts)I think I am going to serve the salmon raw tonight. I found a great recipe and have done some research and I think it's exactly what should be done with it.
Then tomorrow I can do the steaks (were still frozen!) and the other fixings.

(146,218 posts)I sliced the salmon thin, made a soy/citrus dressing, poured some heated oil (including sesame oil) on it, then the dressing and at it right off the plate. Perfect.
And we inhaled the cheesecake.
Tonight, on to the steak and potatoes and carrots!

(146,218 posts)Someone offered to get us some fresh fish in exchange for bread, but it's too darn hot to bake bread.
Dinner last night was great. I particularly liked those mashed potatoes - perfect. And we peacefully split the last piece of cheesecake.
