And some guacamole I am going to make from a most excellent avocado recently brought to me by a friend.
Leftover succotash also on the menu. I made it by grilling corn, green beans, scallions and tomatoes on my new cast iron grill - also recently sent to me by a friend!

(175,733 posts)Didn't much like the smell when I cleaned it, shoved it into the oven anyway. Went back to sniff about 30 minutes later. REALLY didn't like the smell. Took the chicken down to the trash. Called a local Chinese place and ordered mu shu beef and barbecued pork. Very good and not spoiled.

Good for you for tossing it.
Expiration dates don't mean a thing sometimes, but the smell test is irrefutable.

(175,733 posts)But it got warmer than predicted and -- despite air conditioning -- I didn't want to turn on the oven then. LOL, didn't even notice the expiration and now it's in a dumpster so I won't go check.
It wasn't worth keeping and certainly not a good idea to eat it for the next four days.

(146,218 posts)I had to search high and low to find kosher chicken to accommodate a friend. I found it, it looked good and when it was time to cook it, I discovered the smell.
Can't remember what I did, but I was panicked.
Just can't eat bad chicken.
