my bestie is coming to stay the weekend and she's gluten-free. there isn't much in the house for her to eat, so we'll touch base later on how she wants to handle food this weekend.

so I made split pea soup with andouille sausage bits instead of ham and I'll probably make a toasted cheese sandwich to go with it. Have one more strawberry muffin in freezer for dessert.

Caramelized onions, and I use 1000 Island dressing instead of mayo on the rye.

Pro'ly a salad, but I'm not sure what kind yet.

on edit: I made a cucumber salad with those little Persian cucumbers. So simple. The secret is to use rice vinegar. That's it: cucumbers, rice vinegar, a little agave. Top with toasted sesame seeds.

That the younger kids didn't eat much of those dishes. So I have a ton of jerk chicken and indian ginger chicken left over. So, I'm off to burn my mouth again....

Got some salmon steaks out of the freezer, marinated lightly in Italian dressing, no other seasonings but some lemon for purists. Fresh grilled asparagus and some potato salad. Once I get the bike out of the greenhouse, I don't cook a lot inside - we're on the road, dragging the mini grill along!
