(146,218 posts)We have had a blessedly cool day - overcast, breeze all day.
Unfortunately, I have been in a recovery mode from a rather late and raucous dinner party at our place last night.
Ouch.

(106,886 posts)Rather late and raucous - I've been to a few of those in my time. Ouch.
Well, more than a few... Hope you had a great time and feel better soon.
Odd to see the heat so early here. Supposed to be in the 90s all week. It'll be a great night to sleep out, though.

(146,218 posts)I can get through the morning fine, then it's just like someone turned up the thermostat about 20 degrees.
We have met a few people that have put room air conditioners in one of their hatches. They say that they can run them off their portable generators and that it takes very little gas (about a gallon/day).
Have fun sleeping out. Its a new moon and the stars are amazing right now.

I bought a high-quality cut of beef for this and it was well worth it. Turned out so tender.
Blanched the broccoli with baking soda in the water and that made my broccoli stay bright green.
Yum! This was a terrific meal.

(35,662 posts)The RG fixed an unusual pasta that he found at Mario Batali's pasta store in Rye, NY. He fixed with cream sauce that also had chorizos in it. He crumbled up the chorizos. It also had little bits of parmesan in it. We all loved this.
In addition, he made the most interesting potato pancake. It was a large pancake with potatoes inside; also caramelized onions.
His appetizer was endive with prosciutto, a slice of tangelo, and some type of slightly sweet sauce on it.
It was a great meal and we all had so much fun.
I took a pic of the pancake; may post it when I have a little extra time Thursday.
Don't you just love those cold noodles with peanut sauce!? One of my faves.

(146,218 posts)The cold noodles with peanut sauce came out pretty perfectly and it is also one of my favorite dishes. It was always my fall back when I was going to a pot luck. I used to use tahini, but haven't seen any of that around these parts.
