(146,218 posts)I'm kind of in the mood for some slop. I have some tuna in a can, a couple of potatoes, and the ends of a few cheeses (including blue). I was thinking of trying to do some kind of slop with these things on the grill. Maybe put a can of creamed soup in the whole thing?
I can also grill up the last of the veggies - green pepper, cabbage, onion, radishes, garlic.
Any other suggestions would be most welcome.

(2,016 posts)I haven't prepared sushi in years. It took me an hour just to find my sushi mat and rice paddle!
Anyway, I have some great quality tuna (which is rare in the high desert). So, I'm treating myself tonight.

(146,218 posts)We are fortunate to have access to fresh tuna frequently.
We generally don't even bother with the rice and wrapping.
Enjoy.

(2,016 posts)and sitting in the fridge. I even saved 1/2 the tuna for sushimi to go along with the rolls. Too bad no one sells real wasabi around here. I'm stuck with the fake stuff in a tube.
The sushi rice came out perfect. All I have to do is to slice up the whole rolls for when I'm ready to eat. Since all the work (and cleaning) is done, looks like that unopened bottle of wine will be calling my name in a few hours!

(146,218 posts)do you have any suggestions for me based on my post up above?
greatauntoftriplets
(175,733 posts)Um, depends on the kind of cheese you have. Can't talk about blue cheese since it's way too strong for me. For au gratin potatoes, I use Swiss/Gruyere, cream or milk, and butter, heat it up in a pan until it's nicely blended, then add to the potatoes in a baking dish. 350 for an hour seems to work. Not sure what to advise on a grill, though.

That should work.
Do you ever put tuna in it?
greatauntoftriplets
(175,733 posts)No tuna. I don't eat fish. Yuck.

(146,218 posts)I have some blue, but I also have a hefty chunk of Oaxacan string cheese generally used for quesadillas. It melts well.
We shall see.

Well deserved after a hectic, non stop day today.
Hopefully, we can get a calm, quiet night to recharge our internal batteries.

(39,961 posts)Just browned chuck with some onion and broccoli thrown in there with carrots and some soy sauce then served over rice. It was kind of simple, but it turned out pretty good for a healthy, not too labor intensive stir fry.
EDIT: Looking at the thread, was this broccoli night or what LOL ?
