Related: About this forumLOL, it's a crow / pineapple mash-up on my roof this afternoon.
I toss fruit stuff on the roof for fly bys. Usually watermelon trimmings. Hummingbirds, when they're in town go for it. Crows go "Eh, let's move on". Once in a while a solo crow will have a snack.
They are one of the the most intelligent and social bird groups from what I've read.
So, this afternoon it was pineapple trimmings on the roof. Word must have spread. I heard the crow calls and, yep, a dozen or so were having pineapple, dancing, knoshing and doing whatever it is that crows do.

(2,953 posts)I had a hard time finding the natural without HFCS, but was finally successful today. We will see how they like it. They are hovering around it, but have not tried it yet. I made peanut butter suet last week and they finished that off today, so it is back to the store for more lard to make another batch.

(2,674 posts)I threw out some mango scraps in my compost and all the orange pulp that clung the seeds was eaten away and all the peeling gone. Don't know what critter ate it all.
