what's for dinner - sunday, july 13th

we still have about a pound of the pork but left, so i'm heading to the market shortly for something to go with it. corn is finally in season, so i'm getting some of that for sure. otherwise it'll just be whatever strikes my fancy.

and garlic. It came out great.

We scooped it up with some leftover bread and are feeling pretty ok!

A favorite thing to do on the weekends--just make up different vegetable dishes.

I made a new version of my Thai soup, this time putting in water chestnuts and cashews.

Made a big salad with many of the greens from my garden. I still have to add the raw and blanched vegetables to the salad, however.

Making tomato sauce to go with spaghetti squash "pasta." Have lots of delicious herbs to go on top, like oregano and basil. Parmesan cheese.

Later tonight, when it cools down, roasted cherry tomatoes.

The kale/tomato/chicken sausage dish that I made a day or two ago was so good I think I'll try it again, experimenting, of course.

veggies and taters thrown in. Gonna make some rice to go with. It's been about 2 years since I've made a roast beef.

We had some really good corn on the cob for the 4th.

I really loaded up at the farmers market today.

Lotsa rhubarb -- ten pounds
apricots
strawberries
heirloom tomatoes
fresh basil
radishes and scallions
blueberries
sweet corn
kirby cucumbers
tiny yellow pattypan squash

Gotta process some of the rhubarb for the freezer. LOVE my farmers market.

there's a stand that give you a bag slightly larger than the one the sunday paper comes in and it's ten buck bucks for all you can fit in there.

i got kale, shallots, green beans, beets, zucchini, yellow squash, anaheim peppers and corn. i also got some palisade peaches and cherries, which i'll put in a crumble. oh yeah, and tamales.
