What's for Dinner, Thurs., Oct. 9, 2014

Office day at home, so I'm cleaning out the frig. I'll be fixing little bits and bites of this, that, and the other thing, so I think it will be called a "grazing" day. No official dinner.

Now, question of the day: The RG is going to Paris today. What culinary item shall I ask him to bring me? Don't want chocolates.

They had all-natural grassfed ribeyes on sale for $9.99/lb. My housemate is going to grill them and roast the potatoes on the grill too.

otherwise known as Italian sloppy Joes. Named for the style of bun it is served in. More spicy and garlicky than the sugary traditional Joes.

Cher: I'd tell RG to grab some truffles, but he wouldn't get within 200 feet of an aircraft before French customs would nab him!

I'm going to add some cherry tomatoes and shave sharp cheddar over the top when all is done. Left overs will make a great side for another meal, hopefully.

The can have chocolate, but they're more like minicakes. Will travel well, too.

Our dinner was a quick pork stir fry, Italian style: cubed pork, onions, Japanese eggplant from the garden, can of roasted diced tomatoes, garlic, and some olive tapenade, Italian seasonings. Served over rice. Super fast, super yummy!
