It is a really odd assortment of ingredients but it is mostly things I can get here.

I also like the stuffing that you cook in muffin tins. I don't think there will be anyway to keep things warm, so that one looks particularly good.

From a cook in the Dominican Republic

...
Recipe Ingredients:

2 pounds frozen yucca or fresh, peeled and cubed (make sure stringy cores in centers are removed)
1 pound potatoes, peeled, cubed
1 tablespoon salt
2/3 cup (5-ounce can) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground white or black pepper
1 large egg, separated
1/4 cup (1 1/2 ounces) grated Parmesan cheese or Gruyère cheese
...

The rest is here -> http://www.cooksrecipes.com/sidedish/juana%27s_yucca_casserole_recipe.html

Found the yucca at Winco - they are wax covered, you split them lengthwise and take out the fiber core, peel, and cook them.

9. Minnesota produces the most 'real' wild rice,

but California produces more 'cultivated' wild rice meaning it is harvested using machines and the rice is polished to become black. Real wild rice has long gray grains as opposed to short, black, and broken grains.

I'm glad they did not suggest hotdish. Who serves hotdish at Thanksgiving?

I live in MN and don't even count the cultivated stuff and the hotdish thing was sort of a joke as the grape salad sounded almost like it was something from this
