Sichuan Stir-fried Chicken with Peanuts. Also, I made some caramelized onions. I thought it would be good to put them in my roasted vegetable soup and top it with melted provolone.

(106,886 posts)Hope you have a great Szechuan stir fry - it sounds great. I love sweet 'n sour, sweet 'n spicy dishes. Almost went for some take out at lunch but skipped on it. The bao will fill the bill.

(41,694 posts)Was a sale on all natural grass-fed beef rib roast. Slice off the rack of ribs, slice up the roast and you have ribeyes for about $3.00/lb less than buying them precut.

(14,733 posts)A quarter of a pomelo, a bit of that roast from a couple of days ago that's still in there, some tangerine-cranberry juice maybe.

(146,218 posts)I am hoping the food is authentic. This is an event for the gringos on boats who have been arriving into the area in droves over the past two weeks. It coincides with the celebrations/protests going on today to commemorate the revolution (internal).
There isn't much going on here protest wise, but we are starting to get news from other parts of the country. The protests started late this afternoon.
Should have much more news tomorrow.
I think that sounds like fun!
Please tell us how the buffet was.
It's so interesting to think of all these people who live on boats converging at this time of year! You can be sure that if I was there, I'd be going from boat to boat, talking and having a ball with everybody!

(146,218 posts)The buffet was excellent, the beer cold and the entertainment spectacular.
It's a great time of year to be down here.
And people who live like this are generally some of the most laid back, friendliest people you will ever meet.
You are like my DH. He spends much of his day visiting and comes back full of information and stories.

(2,016 posts)I was thinking maybe a hamburger w/ lettuce, tomato and onion. (Mayo+ketchup, of course!) But the fridge is getting empty, so I'll dig out whatever is left before grocery shopping tomorrow. Cuke salad, perhaps?
I do know I have a couple of beers left, so there is that.
