What's for Dinner, Thurs., Oct. 15, 2015

Sorry, everybody, I messed up yesterday and posted "Thursday" on Wednesday's date.

I'll be home late again tonight, so it will be garlic shrimp and vegetables over yellow rice. That's left over from the Portuguese restaurant. Looks like a 10 p.m. dinner for me, with a blueberry yogurt to tide me over at "lunch," which will be at 5 p.m.

For dessert, though, tonight, I have some no-sugar ice cream (vanilla), which I will have with a sliced banana and caramelized peanuts on top.

Italian sloppy Joe, which I made this morning before work. I'll just heat it up when I get home, and slap it in the rolls I made yesterday.

** Sciatto: slovenly, sloppy, unkempt.

** Sciattone: A slob. Boy, does that name come to mind growing up!
"Comb your hair and tuck in that shirt! Sciattone!!"

speckled butterbeans, tomato/pepper salad, and then early-to-bed. I've been stripping wallpaper today--up and down a ladder, working overhead. Not easy for a wimp like me.

It was nippy when I got out of class tonight, so I decided it would be chili. I mixed it up easily enough, as I had all the ingredients.

I put in minced jalopeno (canned), and cannellinis. Ground beef. Onion, garlic, and chili seasonings to taste. Topped it with grated cheddar.

We were on the other side of town running errands and generally goofing off today. We saw a Schlotzky's and stopped there. An original with chips and a glass of unsweet iced tea. The manager was nice enough to cut us up a fresh lemon for the tea when we refused the lemon juice in the little packet. The old boy hates Schlotzky's, he was just being nice to me.
