. I have some cremini mushrooms, grape tomatoes, red bell pepper and a mix of cheeses. It's so sunny here today, you wouldn't know it was only 24 F.

I know what you mean, I love the smell and the need to go check every 1/2 hour or so to make sure everything is okay.

Still have some frozen salmon patties. When those are gone, time to watch for a big fish sale again.

I'll serve it with corn and red peppers.

Mmmm....they are good!

Parsnips and beets and onions and yams and shallots, tossed with fresh thyme and rosemary, drizzled with EVOO and thyme and lemon juice and kosher salt.

Served with some local halibut -- 6 oz portions. I got them from a shirt-tail relative-in-law who fishes commercially off the Oregon coast and was in town on the weekend. I could never pay $20/pound for fish, no matter how scrumptious. Gosh, it was good. A rare treat. Thanks Tony!

Also prepared potatoes Anna for those not carb-restricted.

Tonight I'm making heart-shaped sugar shortbread cookies to deliver to aunties tomorrow at the retirement community, and to the 5-year-old in the family who enjoys wearing my grandmother's red-checked apron for cooking projects -- heart cookies are great for decorating with red hots and sprinkles like kids love to do.

Got a family birthday coming up later in the week; thinking of making that apple cake that made the rounds here last month. Or maybe I'll use up some of the blackberries in the freezer for a birthday pie.
