Tip

Since the salt companies haven't caught on yet and never will, here's something you can do to make life easier when you measure it.

Don't throw away the grated cheese plastic containers with the top that opens l/2 way or has holes to sprinkle the cheese. Wash it well, dry it thoroughly and use it for salt. It's so easy to measure with that lid no matter what size measuring spoon you use. It's easy to sprinkle a lot of it from the other side if you're boiling noodles, etc....

I have one container with sifted powdered sugar in it to sprinkle on some cookies, waffles, etc.. It helps if you have a different color lid than the salt one....

You can also use dulse. Low in sodium, but it tastes like it has a lot (minerals). HopeHoops Feb 2012 #1
