What are y'all cooking for Election Day?

Usually, I'd throw a pot roast in the slow cooker because of all of the running I would do. It doesn't get any more American than Yankee Pot Roast.

But that's a little much for me now...I am thinking of steaks on the grill (it's supposed to be nice )

I thought of Mexican (things with hot sauce) and to honor "taco truck on every corner" lol

What are you all doing?

I think Mexican is a good idea. We will both be off for a few days as of 8 am election day, so an election spread together sounds good.

EDIT: Saving the steaks for the celebration.

"Nasty Woman" cocktails, and a cheese cracker plate

My favorite snack: cream cheese with sweet/hot/fruity sauce poured over w/water crackers. Easy.

I volunteered to drive anybody who needs a ride to the polls from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. My polling place is literally across the street from my home (the church is 1021, my address is 1034), so I've signed up to be on call to drive anybody who needs a ride.

My favorite Thai place has an awesome tofu & veggies in a spicy peanut sauce which is to die for. YUM!

Because nothing says "America!" like French Canadien meat pie!!

(Or, should I call it "Freedom pie"??)

Besides, it's all over but the crying. I voted 3 weeks ago (thank you California).

I'm putting some baby lima beans and a hamhock in the crock pot before I go to bed. I set the dial to low and the beans will be ready in morning. I will fry up a chicken for lunch, maybe some pasta salad and sliced ripe tomatoes. Then we can snack on the cold fried chicken and pasta salad while we watch the election results. Might make some ice cream. I have some Mexican powder cookies that would go well with a dish of homemade vanilla ice cream.
