Dont know, but there are numerous food experiments going on here. There are small Japanese eggplants roasting in the oven. And for lunch there was rotelli pasta with beets and strips of corned beef. Sounds weird, yes? But it was really good.

(35,662 posts)We used to have a good German restaurant around here, but unfortunately it has closed. Had the best schnitzel.
Hmmmm, I may start hinting around for this as dinner tonight.
Your dinner sounds so heartwarming and comforting. Potato dumplings! OH!

It's breaded and ready to go into the oven shortly. He dipped it in shredded horseradish and egg, then the bread crumbs.
I made a watercress salad with sliced shallot. We'll have that with oil and vinegar.
Dessert will be chocolate pie with meringue on it.

(2,016 posts)My buddy made an awesome black bean soup for lunch - with kielbasa, chipotles, and carrots/onions/celery/tomatoes. Twas awesome.
I made for tonight a posole verde (with pork) and all the condiments. (Came out equally yummy.)
And - if that wasn't enough, we both made the Italian wedding soup. (I had to bring the escarole from SoCal, go figure.)
Anyway, we made enough for a small regiment. C'mon over!
Now that all the cooking is done for the day, I think it might be nap time before supper....
