What's for Dinner, Tues., July 18, 2017

Falafel and whipped hummus.

Tait's chocolate cookies.

This is a take-to-work dinner. When I get home, I'm going to have another 2 or 3 chicken wings. Also some peach sangria sorbet over tangerines, pineapple, and bananas.

One plain for lunch sandwich. Rice in the ricepot. My appetite is low, it's pretty warm here today.

I found more ham ends and ham bone stock in the freezer. Those plus the usual veggies (carrots, onions and celery), seasoned with bay leaves, black pepper, garlic power (Not a garlic clove to be found , salt and a Cajun spice mix have come together in this soup.

I don't usually put that Cajun mix in my beans, but wanted a different taste. TJ is sleeping so I haven't gotten a critique yet on the change up of seasoning. She is working ten nights straight, a mix of full shifts and half shifts, so I want to have some food made up that travels and microwaves well.

I will have salad with the beans tonight.

Decaf green tea and an oatmeal raisin cookie after.

Should go good together.

I have been eating on a box of Dove Raspberry sorbet and dark choc bars.
They are small and just the right amount actually.
With a $1.00 off coupon they were only $2.49/box.
Really good too!

Hot tea and a cookie or two (in Wales they called 'em biscuits) is my usual after dinner fare. I take my nightly "you got old" medicines with them. My cookies were from Pepperidge Farm.

6. Chicken and quinoa salad

Cooked the chicken in the water bath cooker. Used butter, fresh herbs, and garlic that was pounded by morter and pestal.
Then after - I dredged the breasts in panko crumbs and browned in olive oil. Tender and so tasty.

Added kale from the garden to the quinoa salad - it also had dry cranberries and slivered almonds! ...and used more of the pounded butter with herbs on some bread and toasted that.

Leftovers in the salad jar for work tomorrow. Adding more chopped greens in the morning.

Try this beverage! Pomegranate juice and seltzer water! 1/3 2/3 ratio

Not too sweet and a yummy variation on soda pop.
